Look at me all hipster like and making things and getting all drunkenly domestic. I put together some fun infusions for the upcoming cold wintery months experimenting with a few favorites and trying a few new tricks. Two of the infusions I know are solid and a couple are experiments in accelerated oak aging. I will know how they turn out in 3 to 6 months but the other two will be ready in Dec. (I'm totally lazy and will post the recipes in an update)
I also made whiskey cookies heres my recipe:
Chocolate Whiskey Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons whiskey (I just keep pouring till I'm happy)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate cocoa
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in whiskey. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto pans.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
Whiskey Icing Instructions:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
2 1/2 tablespoons whiskey (I just keep pouring till I'm happy)
splash of vanilla extract
Directions
Mix, let sit a min, mix again till smooth. Spread on the cookies.
